How do we know that we will get the home renovation we want?

Craiglee has been in business since 1987 and has many referrals and testimonials to verify what we do and how we do it. 0ur website shows only a small portion of the additions we have built over the past 30 years.

Is there any protection for me in case of a major problem?

Craiglee carries $2,000,000 liability insurance to protect you in case of unforeseen problems. All subtrades we use have liability insurance as well. We are registered and compliant with WSIB (workman’s safety insurance board) and the Labour Board of Ontario and adhere to all safety guidelines. Where safety is concerned, Craiglee has you covered from beginning to end.

Will my house get damaged by weather or construction activity?

Our years of experience has taught us that proper house protection is critical to a successful renovation outcome. We will:

1. Tarp or box your air conditioner units.
2. Use a new tarp to cover your house in the case where the roof is removed and guarantee complete protection.
3. Tape and cover with plywood or press board all vulnerable windows
4. Completely protect gas connections. Where weather is concerned, we check the incoming weather forecast daily to prevent any possible type of weather damage. Most important, we communicate with you every step of the way to let you know how your house is being protected and if there are any changes to the schedule as a result of inclement weather.

Will my renovation project disturb my neighbours?

Not only does the renovation have an impact on your life, but that of your neighbours and your entire street. We take the opportunity to introduce ourselves to your immediate neighbours and explain what we are doing and how we will not infringe on their property without their permission. We comply with the law with the hours of operation and try to have as little impact on the street as possible. We strive to make the entire process as stress free as possible for you and your neighbours.

Will you be on the job site, everyday, five days a week until my project
is done?

Many things can affect a construction schedule, but as your home renovator we are committed to be onsite from project beginning to end and there will always be a Craiglee representative on site when one of our subtrades is working. We plan for the week ahead so you always know what to expect. If anything changes in the schedule, you will be notified quickly. And we make ourselves available to answer any questions or concerns seven days a week. If you have an emergency concerning the project, we are there for you anytime, day or night.

Does your company have quality assurance?

We at Craiglee are proud of our many testimonials from past clients that have expressed how extremely satisfied they are with their completed project. Our policies include a guarantee that we will respond to a question of concern within a day and will make arrangements to rectify any issues within three days. Craiglee guarantees the job will be completed to your satisfaction and we have a two-year labour and material warranty and manufacturers warranties are as stated.

How long does the typical home renovation project take in Toronto? What if it takes longer to complete?

There are many reasons why a construction project might be delayed and we understand your need to have your project done as quickly as possible. At the beginning of your renovation, we will supply you with a schedule informed by our 40 years of experience that we will maintain. It will have a completion date for all major stages of the project. Although sometimes there are unforeseeable situations that will slow down the project, we make it a matter of pride to adhere to the schedule you receive at the beginning of the work.

Are there any hidden costs or grey areas?

With a Craiglee quotation, the stated price is the price. We make sure that everything you asked for is covered and included in the quote. Our quotes are clear and very detailed. There are no grey areas. And if there are any changes made during the project, we have a clear Change Order process that outlines the change clearly. We never proceed with a change without your approval.

What happens if I’m not satisfied when the job is finished?

Craiglee strives to complete your home to your satisfaction and approval. We want the customer to be happy. All finishes, fixtures, bathtubs, tiles, flooring, etc. are selected by the customer. Our final payment is based on your satisfaction with the completed project.

Are the employees or sub trades accountable?

Craiglee is responsible for all employees and subtrades that work on your home from the start to finish. All subtrades are hand-picked and have worked with us for many years. One of our representatives will be made available to you 24/7 during your project in case of issues. We take great pride in providing a smooth process from quotation to completion of the project.

Will my house turn into a demolition site or be an unsafe area?

Craiglee provides a clean and safe job site.  The area is cleaned at the end of each day.  Safety is extremely important to us and railings and all safety precautions are always in place. All of our jobs are registered with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Association)

Should I be warned about employees and sub-trades behaving badly.

All our employees and sub-trades know how seriously we take onsite behaviour. They know our professional approach and know they are expected to reflect the highest professional standards. Craiglee has policies in place to which all employees and sub-trades must adhere.
