TWO STOREY ADDITION OVER AN EXISTING HOUSE

Increase your living space:

The complete second storey will be erected and shingled within two weeks, maximizing your home space. This ensures your house stays dry from the weather. Once completed, we can work from within, framing, installing heating, wiring, and plumbing for your newly increased living space.

Stay-in renovations:

At some point in the process, we will open up the addition to the existing house and install the staircase. To complete the second floor, we install a door between the first and second floor to keep dirt and dust from filtering into the first floor.If your first floor is to remain as is except for some minor modifications, we will build a complete addition over your existing house with little disruption to your family.

Scarborough Storey and a Half to Full Storey Home Conversion Project by Craiglee Home Improvements

STOREY AND A HALF CONVERSION TO A FULL SECOND STOREY

If we are converting the second floor to a full two storey addition and we are not renovating the first floor, we will seal of the staircase to avoid any disruption on the first floor and we will complete the second floor addition from the exterior by installing temporary stairs on the back of the house. Again, you are able to stay on your first floor during construction, this sets us apart from other Scarborough contractors offering renovation services.

FIRST FLOOR ADDITIONS

Whether you decide on a front, side or rear addition, there are options to choose from. Your basement can be a crawl space which allows access to the first floor and is heated so that your first floor is more comfortable, or a full basement which adds more usable living space. There are many ways to increase your living space in Toronto with our custom home improvement services.  

Space requirements and budget are deciding factors.

When we add an addition to your home we can complete most of it without intruding into your existing living space. The ground floor additions can be single storey, two storey or a partial second storey.

We strive to minimize the disruption to your lives by completing all or most of the project while your family maintains a normal schedule.

How do we know that we will get the home renovation we want?

Craiglee has been in business since 1987 and has many referrals and testimonials to verify what we do and how we do it. 0ur website shows only a small portion of the additions we have built over the past 30 years.

Is there any protection for me in case of a major problem?

Craiglee carries $2,000,000 liability insurance to protect you in case of unforeseen problems. All subtrades we use have liability insurance as well. We are registered and compliant with WSIB (workman’s safety insurance board) and the Labour Board of Ontario and adhere to all safety guidelines. Where safety is concerned, Craiglee has you covered from beginning to end.

Will my renovation project disturb my neighbours?

Not only does the renovation have an impact on your life, but that of your neighbours and your entire street. We take the opportunity to introduce ourselves to your immediate neighbours and explain what we are doing and how we will not infringe on their property without their permission. We comply with the law with the hours of operation and try to have as little impact on the street as possible. We strive to make the entire process as stress free as possible for you and your neighbours.

Will you be on the job site, everyday, five days a week until my project is done?

Many things can affect a construction schedule, but as your home renovator we are committed to be onsite from project beginning to end and there will always be a Craiglee representative on site when one of our subtrades is working. We plan for the week ahead so you always know what to expect. If anything changes in the schedule, you will be notified quickly. And we make ourselves available to answer any questions or concerns seven days a week. If you have an emergency concerning the project, we are there for you anytime, day or night.

Are there any hidden costs or grey areas?

With a Craiglee quotation, the stated price is the price. We make sure that everything you asked for is covered and included in the quote. Our quotes are clear and very detailed. There are no grey areas. And if there are any changes made during the project, we have a clear Change Order process that outlines the change clearly. We never proceed with a change without your approval.
